Nexben
Public factsICHRA administration
End-to-end ICHRA administration and payment platform for brokers and employers, plus a separate FMO for Medicare, individual, ancillary, and group products.
Overview
Nexben is a benefits technology company that administers defined-contribution / ICHRA programs: quoting and affordability recommendations, employee shopping, payroll-connected administration, premium payments, and reconciliation. A June 4, 2026 announcement described a partnership with eHealth (Nasdaq: EHTH) that combines eHealth’s marketplace and licensed-agent support with Nexben’s ICHRA administration and payment technology. Nexben also operates an FMO that supports brokers on Medicare, individual health, ancillary, and group products.
Why it matters Nexben is built as a broker-centric ICHRA utility (payments and reconciliation) and now has a named eHealth shopping partnership, which is the combination many consultants actually need.

Overview
Nexben describes itself as an end-to-end benefits platform for defined contribution and ICHRA. The homepage splits the company into two lines:
- Nexben ICHRA — administration, payments, and plan operations for benefit consultants and employers.
- Nexben FMO — field marketing organization support for brokers selling Medicare, individual health, ancillary, and group products, including a co-op marketing program.
Published ICHRA scale on the homepage: trusted by over 500 benefit consultants, 600+ active employer clients, 90% average retention, and access to 180+ health insurers. A healthcare-employer case study on the ICHRA page describes a 400-person group that Nexben says saved 60%+ ($2M) annually after adopting ICHRA; that result is vendor-reported and group-specific.
The June 4, 2026 eHealth / Nexben press release (Indianapolis and Grand Rapids, Mich.) said the firms would launch an employee-centric ICHRA solution: eHealth marketplace, quoting, and licensed-agent support plus Nexben administration and payment technology. eHealth CEO Derrick Duke and Nexben CEO Mark Smith are quoted. Nexben’s about blurb in that release matches the “turnkey enrollment and marketplace” positioning on nexben.com.
Key Capabilities
- Discover: cost-savings analysis and contribution strategy.
- Shop: personalized marketplace, decision-support tools, live support from licensed insurance professionals.
- Stabilize: defined budget, payments, and reconciliation so premiums and enrollments stay aligned.
- Intelligent quoting and affordability recommendations.
- Payroll-connected administration (via Finch and other connections).
- High-touch service for brokers, employers, and employees; onboarding, training, and a partner portal.
- White-label option customized to broker preferences.
- Medicare, dental, vision, life, disability, and other ancillary called out as part of the defined-contribution utility — not only medical ICHRA.
- Compliance data: Nexben says it provides plan data administrators need for required forms and the annual PCORI fee, typically in January, but does not fill out or submit IRS forms or give legal advice.
The eHealth partnership announcement additionally lists broker quoting, carrier integrations, agent-of-record preservation, licensing/advisory support in states where needed, and employer/employee education. Combined-solution claims in that release (including a 17% average healthcare-cost savings footnote based on eHealth analysis in six states) are partnership marketing, not a Nexben price list.
Integrations & Ecosystem
Named integrations on Nexben’s ICHRA page:
- Finch — connection to 200+ payroll and HRIS systems and employee-data sync.
- eHealth — personalized employee shopping; expanded in the June 2026 partnership announcement.
Homepage “180+ health insurers” is Nexben’s figure; the eHealth partnership release refers to employees comparing ACA-compliant plans from approximately 50 leading national and regional carriers on the combined shopping experience. Those two numbers describe different inventories (Nexben’s broader insurer access vs the eHealth shopping subset) and should not be collapsed into one roster without confirmation.
Nexben FMO is a separate broker partnership (Medicare, individual, ancillary, group) with marketing support.
Pricing
ICHRA PEPM, implementation, and payment-processing fees are not published. FMO compensation and co-op marketing terms are also quote-based. Ask Nexben or the writing general agent for a current schedule.
Notes & Limitations
- Nexben is both an ICHRA administrator and an FMO; confirm which contract a broker is signing.
- Nexben supplies reporting data; employers (or their CPA/counsel) still file 1094/1095, PCORI, and other returns.
- eHealth partnership features and savings footnotes should be treated as announced capabilities as of June 2026; confirm what is live for a given case.
- 180+ insurers vs ~50 carriers in the eHealth shopping description may not be the same list.
- Case-study savings (60%+ / ~$2M) and retention figures are vendor-reported.
- “National” is inferred from nationwide ICHRA/FMO positioning; confirm appointments by state.
