Public facts

Health and care platform

Employer health platform combining WayFinding AI navigation, virtual care, pharmacy, surgery, cancer, weight, and 2nd.MD, after merging with Accolade in 2025.

Overview

Transcarent markets itself as the One Place for Health and Care. The WayFinding experience uses doctor-informed agentic AI plus Health Guides and clinicians for benefits navigation, clinical guidance, and care delivery, including 24/7 virtual primary care. Named Care Experiences include Pharmacy Care, Weight Health, Surgery Care, Cancer Care, and 2nd.MD. Transcarent completed its merger with Accolade on April 8, 2025 (about $621 million; Accolade shareholders received $7.03 per share). The combined company says it serves over 20 million members and more than 1,700 employer and health plan clients. Public pages state AI supports licensed clinicians and does not replace or overrule them.

Why it matters After buying Accolade, Transcarent is the combined navigation-plus-care platform many large groups will be quoted against Quantum, Included Health, and carrier advocacy.

Target buyer
Self-insured employers and health plans that want a single member front door spanning navigation, virtual care, specialty care experiences, and pharmacy—not a standalone advocacy line only.

Overview

Transcarent’s public site presents a single member experience—WayFinding—that connects medical care, pharmacy, and point solutions. Members get answers customized to their medical, pharmacy, and point-solution benefits, then clinical guidance from agentic AI, dedicated Health Guides, and expert medical opinions, plus virtual primary care 24/7 by chat or video. The company states that AI supports licensed clinicians and does not replace or overrule them.

Complementary Care Experiences named on the site are Pharmacy Care, Weight Health, Surgery Care, Cancer Care, and 2nd.MD. A January 6, 2026 post describes WayFinding 2.0 additions: scheduling, symptom checking, Total Recall Memory Engine, and Personalized Health Path.

On April 8, 2025, Transcarent announced completion of its merger with Accolade. The deal was announced January 8, 2025. Accolade shareholders received $7.03 per share in cash; the transaction was valued at approximately $621 million. Financing was led by General Catalyst and Glen Tullman’s 62 Ventures, with other investors, combined-company cash, and J.P. Morgan–led debt. Combined scale cited: over 20 million members and more than 1,700 employer and health plan clients. Glen Tullman remains CEO; Snezana Mahon, Pharm.D., was named President.

Homepage numeric outcome tiles (NPS, urgent-care utilization, surgical savings) did not render as readable values in this research capture. The site warns that results vary by plan design, population, geography, engagement, and participating providers. WayFinding pages also show placeholder zeros for AI-resolution, treatment-plan, and ER/urgent-care metrics and attribute them to internal analysis.

Key Capabilities

  • Benefits navigation via an AI Care Assistant trained on the employer’s benefits and plan design, with memory of prior interactions.
  • Clinical guidance: symptom checking, doctor/nurse follow-up, 2nd.MD opinions, and a memory engine for clinician instructions.
  • Care delivery: 24/7 chat-based care, same-day video with board-certified physicians, virtual mental health, and in-person booking.
  • AI-powered appointment booking and coordination; follow-ups and reminders.
  • Specialty Care Experiences: surgery, cancer, weight health, pharmacy.
  • Post-merger: Accolade advocacy, True Health Actions (member profile from employer, plan, EMR, and other data), and a combined Experience Store of point solutions.

Integrations & Ecosystem

WayFinding is described as connecting medical, pharmacy, and point solutions and carrying context across interactions. Intelligent scheduling uses high-quality, in-network options. After Accolade, the Experience Store is described as combining Accolade Trusted Partners (examples in the merger release: mental health, diabetes, fertility, musculoskeletal) with Transcarent local and virtual relationships, accessible through SSO. Transcarent says it does not replace the health plan (FAQ topic on the homepage). A full current partner catalog was not captured.

Pricing

No public PEPM, shared-savings schedule, or implementation fees. Outcome numbers on marketing tiles were not reliably readable in this pass. Commercial terms are sales-assisted.

Notes & Limitations

  • Accolade is part of Transcarent; live member branding may still say Accolade, Transcarent, 2nd.MD, or PlushCare depending on the client.
  • Several quantitative outcome graphics did not yield usable figures in the fetched HTML; do not invent those numbers.
  • “National” is inferred from U.S. employer/health-plan positioning; no state matrix was found.
  • AI claims should be read with the vendor’s clinician-oversight disclaimer.
