Paychex sells ACA help as Employer Shared Responsibility (ESR) Services—available standalone or inside some HR packages. The public ESR page describes automated tracking of ALE status and full-time-equivalent counts, coverage-compliance monitoring, preparation and filing of Forms 1094-C and 1095-C, optional direct distribution of 1095-Cs to employees, and licensed agents who can help compare health plans that meet ACA requirements. Overview

Paychex positions ACA work as Employer Shared Responsibility (ESR) Services at paychex.com/group-health-insurance/esr-services. When a business averaged 50 or more full-time employees (including FTEs) in the prior year, Paychex restates the duties to offer affordable coverage that provides at least 60% minimum value to full-time employees and dependents, and to complete IRS reporting.

ESR services include form prep and filing (1094-C and 1095-C), optional employee mailing/distribution of 1095-Cs, continuous tracking of ALE status, FTE counts, and coverage compliance, plus agent support to find and compare ACA-compliant health plans. Packages are standalone or part of some HR bundles.

Educational pages note the IRS automatic 30-day extension from January 31 for furnishing 1095-Cs (no further automatic extension) and describe End-of-Year Reporting: Paychex prepares and files unless the client opts out, provides employer reference copies, and produces a Year-End Summary Report of data issues. An older FAQ also described a Direct-to-Employee 1095-C mailing service.

Penalty education on the ESR page gives 2025 illustration ranges by company size (for example up to $233,800 at 100 full-time employees) and an FAQ figure of $3,340 per full-time employee after the first 30 when an employee gets exchange coverage—statutory illustrations, not software prices.
