National PPO and claims-cost networks (now Claritev)

MultiPlan’s national PPO and specialty networks now sit under Claritev (rebrand announced February 17, 2025); used by carriers, TPAs, and self-insured employers.

Overview

MultiPlan Corporation rebranded to Claritev Corporation on February 17, 2025 (NYSE ticker moved to CTEV). The company said the rebrand did not change its existing offerings. Claritev’s public site describes 45 years of healthcare data processing, 1.4 million healthcare providers supported, $175 billion in medical charges analyzed annually, and $25 billion in potential savings identified each year. Network brands that still appear in provider materials include the MultiPlan Network, PHCS, HealthEOS, Beech Street, Health Management Network (HMN), Rural Arizona Network (RAN), Texas True Choice, and IHP. Clients include insurance carriers, self-insured employers, labor-management plans, and governmental agencies; many employers access PHCS and/or MultiPlan through TPAs.

Why it matters MultiPlan/Claritev is the default national independent PPO and OON-repricing stack many TPAs already rent; the 2025 Claritev name does not retire PHCS or MultiPlan network logos.

Overview

The company long known as MultiPlan now markets as Claritev. The official February 17, 2025 announcement (McLean, VA) stated Claritev Corporation, formerly MultiPlan, would begin trading as CTEV on February 28, 2025, and that the rebrand would have no impact on the existing suite of offerings. multiplan.com was not used as the live marketing site at research time; claritev.com is the current corporate site.

Claritev positions itself as a technology, data, and insights company: claims intelligence, network solutions, payment and revenue integrity, data and analytics, and professional services. Homepage metrics: 1.4 million providers supported, $175 billion medical charges analyzed annually, $25 billion potential savings identified each year.

A 2024 MultiPlan, Inc. Network Facility Handbook still lists participating-facility obligations for MultiPlan and subsidiaries including PHCS, HealthEOS, Beech Street, HMN, RAN, and Texas True Choice. Clients are not required to access every network or every provider. Direct contracts between a client and a facility take precedence.

Key Capabilities

  • National and regional PPO brands (PHCS described by Claritev as the largest independent nationwide primary PPO).
  • Customization: nationwide or geographic carve-outs, include/exclude specialties, primary vs wrap, tiered in-network benefits.
  • PHCS for Value-Driven Health Plans: practitioners and ancillary paired exclusively with HST’s hospital RBP service.
  • WC and auto medical networks under MultiPlan and HealthEOS brands.
  • Claims-cost control, NSA-oriented member tools, payment integrity, and analytics sold under the Claritev umbrella.

Integrations & Ecosystem

Typical buyers are insurers, TPAs, self-insured employers, labor plans, and agencies. Employers often reach PHCS/MultiPlan through a TPA. BenInsights analytics is listed in the Oracle Cloud Marketplace for Oracle Cloud HCM customers. Provider handbooks warn that claim-specific conditions or overlapping direct contracts can turn off a MultiPlan rate.

Pricing

Not published. Network access is a B2B contract. Claritev’s savings and charge-volume figures are company metrics.

Notes & Limitations

  • This catalog keeps the MultiPlan slug because RFPs and ID cards still show MultiPlan/PHCS logos.
  • multiplan.com may not match claritev.com content; use Claritev newsroom and provider handbooks for current legal names.
  • Claritev/MultiPlan has been the subject of provider litigation and press scrutiny; this page does not adjudicate those claims.
