Public facts

ACA HQ eligibility, affordability, and 1094/1095 reporting

Equifax Workforce Solutions ACA HQ platform for ALE measurement, affordability, Form 1094/1095 filing, and state individual-mandate reporting.

Overview

Equifax Workforce Solutions sells ACA HQ™, an Affordable Care Act compliance product on the PeopleHQ® employer portal. Public pages describe automated look-back and monthly measurement, affordability calculations, support for complex structures (multiple ALEs, non-employee measurement, M&A), Form 1095/1094 generation and IRS submission, employee form delivery, and state reporting for residents of California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Washington, D.C., with Vermont also named in an FAQ on individual mandates. Related Workforce Solutions products include The Work Number® verifications, I-9 HQ, and Tax Form Management.

Why it matters ACA HQ is a dedicated Equifax compliance module used when ALEs want measurement-plus-filing in the same vendor that already runs The Work Number or other PeopleHQ services.

Target buyer
Applicable large employers, brokers, and partners that need year-round ACA measurement and multi-state 1094/1095 filing, often already using other Equifax Workforce Solutions products.

Overview

Equifax Workforce Solutions is the HR/employer-services division of Equifax. The ACA product marketed today is ACA HQ, part of PeopleHQ. The product page stresses that employer ACA rules are growing more complex and that Equifax provides technology, ACA-focused expertise, and personalized support.

Capabilities called out: flexible data for multiple ALEs, non-employee measurement, and mergers and acquisitions; automated look-back and monthly measurement plus affordability calculations; tracking of form approval/submission for IRS audits; employee delivery and IRS filing by deadline; and expanded state reporting. Equifax says it was first to offer expanded reporting for employees living in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Washington, D.C., and that it adds states as individual mandates appear. An FAQ also lists Vermont among states with individual-mandate reporting.

Equifax explains ALE status (50+ full-time employees including FTEs), the 95% offer standard, Forms 1095-C and 1094, and penalty risk (4980H and IRC 6721/6722). Affordability and penalty-dollar examples on the page include dated tax-year figures (for example a 2023 affordability percentage and 2024 penalty amounts); those statutory numbers change annually and should be confirmed against current IRS guidance, not treated as Equifax product pricing.

Blog modules reference ICHRA reporting complexity and 2027 ESRP penalty amounts released by the IRS—content marketing, not a software SKU.

Key Capabilities

  • Eligibility measurement (look-back and monthly).
  • Affordability calculation and penalty-risk reduction positioning.
  • Multi-EIN / M&A configurations.
  • Federal 1094/1095 furnish and file.
  • State mandate files for named jurisdictions.
  • Audit trail for IRS letters (226-J is mentioned in educational FAQ copy).

Integrations & Ecosystem

ACA HQ lives in PeopleHQ next to I-9 HQ, Tax Form Management, and The Work Number. Older Equifax ACA PDFs described CMS-related use of The Work Number for exchange subsidy verifications; confirm whether that workflow is still in the current ACA HQ SKU. Source-system names (specific payroll vendors) are not fully listed on the public ACA HQ page.

Notes & Limitations

  • www.equifax.com is the corporate site requested for this directory; the live ACA product page is https://workforce.equifax.com/solutions/aca-hq.
  • Penalty and affordability percentages on the page can be tax-year-specific and go stale.
  • “National” software with extra state modules; not every state has an individual mandate.
  • Work Number scale stats (millions of employers/records) apply to verifications, not to ACA HQ seats.
