Public facts

Benefits agency management with quoting workflow

Vertafore benefits AMS that stores plans, renewals, and revenue data and connects to quoting tools such as PerfectQuote.

Overview

BenefitPoint is Vertafore’s agency-management system built for employee-benefits brokers. The public product page emphasizes plan and client data, renewal workflows, revenue tracking, and AI that maps statement-of-benefits documents into structured plan records. Vertafore says seven of the top 10 benefits brokers use it, and cites 2.4 million active accounts, 70,000+ brokers and independent agents, and 3.25 million current plans. Native multi-carrier medical rating is not described as a built-in CPQ; Vertafore’s Orange Partner Program includes a two-way integration with PerfectQuote for group-insurance quoting and proposals.

Why it matters It is the default benefits system of record at many large brokerages, even when quoting itself happens in a connected CPQ such as PerfectQuote.

Target buyer
Employee-benefits agencies and practices that need a benefits-specific system of record for plans, renewals, and commissions, often paired with a separate rater.

Overview

BenefitPoint is sold by Vertafore, a Denver-area insurance-software company that markets agency, MGA, and carrier products under a “Distribution Velocity” and Velocity AI banner. The BenefitPoint page calls it a benefits management system, not a general P&C AMS: brokers store employer accounts, plan designs, renewals, and revenue in one place.

Vendor-reported scale: 2.4 million active accounts, 70,000+ brokers and independent agents, 3.25 million current plans. A 2021 Vertafore release said seven of the top 10 benefits brokers use BenefitPoint.

AI on the current page is branded Benefit Plan Agent: Vertafore says it turns plan documents into structured data, claims 45 minutes saved per plan, 70% time saved, 90% accuracy, and coverage of 100% of plan types (vendor figures). Velocity AI is described as the broader Vertafore AI platform being embedded into products including BenefitPoint.

Key Capabilities

  • Centralized benefits client and plan records (as opposed to P&C policy screens).
  • Renewal process tracking and automation.
  • Administrative workflow, task lists, and collaboration on shared data.
  • Revenue tracking and business reporting aimed at spotting missed income.
  • AI document processing that maps statement-of-benefits content into plan records.
  • AgencyOne as the integration layer to other Vertafore systems and third-party tools.

Vertafore’s own page mentions “faster quoting and client management” as an outcome. Partner materials (PerfectQuote and Vertafore, June 2021) state that BenefitPoint does not itself handle benefits quoting and that agencies use PerfectQuote’s ACA medical rating and proposal reader alongside it.

Integrations & Ecosystem

Named on the BenefitPoint page: AMS360, Sagitta, and RiskMatch for Agencies & Brokers, plus AgencyOne for Vertafore AMS and third-party connections.

PerfectQuote is a documented Orange Partner with a two-way BenefitPoint integration for census/client data, quoting, and sales presentations. That partnership is the public quoting path, not a native BenefitPoint rater.

A full current partner directory was not captured from the product page.

Pricing

No list prices, seat fees, or implementation amounts appear on vertafore.com’s BenefitPoint page. Sales is phone/form driven (Vertafore lists 800-444-4813). Third-party “starting at $150–$300/user/month” figures were not confirmed on the vendor site.

Notes & Limitations

  • This page is categorized as a quoting/proposal tool because benefits agencies use BenefitPoint as the hub around rating and proposals. Native multi-carrier CPQ is not documented on the current product page; quoting is typically a partner product.
  • It is not also listed in this research set as a Broker CRM product; AMS/quoting is the assigned primary.
  • Scale, time-saved, and accuracy statistics are vendor-reported.
  • “National” is inferred from U.S. benefits-broker positioning; no state-exclusion list was found.
