Accolade
Public factsPersonalized advocacy and virtual care
Employer-sponsored advocacy, virtual primary and mental health care, and expert medical opinion, now operated under Transcarent after the April 2025 merger.
Overview
Accolade is a health advocacy, expert medical opinion, and virtual care brand for employer-sponsored members. The public member site describes Care Advocates, nurses, doctors, therapists, and specialists; a portal and mobile app for benefits, claims, ID cards, and in-network search; virtual primary and mental health care; and 2nd.MD expert opinions (900+ specialists). Transcarent completed its merger with Accolade on April 8, 2025. Accolade terms state Transcarent, Inc. acquired Accolade, Inc., Accolade 2ndMD LLC (2nd.MD), and PlushCare, Inc., and that those brands now operate under the Transcarent umbrella.
Why it matters Accolade remains a widely deployed advocacy and virtual-care brand, but commercial ownership and the go-forward platform sit with Transcarent after the 2025 deal—brokers need to know which brand members still see versus what is being sold next.

Overview
Accolade’s public site is primarily member-facing. It describes personalized support so employees and families can get answers, appointments, and benefits guidance. Depending on the employer package, members may have virtual primary and mental health care, expert medical opinion, and care navigation. The care team is described as advocates, nurses, doctors, therapists, and specialists.
Vendor-reported member metrics on the site include 90% satisfaction with Accolade advocacy, 91% of Accolade Care members saying it is easy to access a high-quality doctor or hospital, and 900+ leading specialists via 2nd.MD by Accolade.
On April 8, 2025, Transcarent announced it completed its merger with Accolade. The release says Accolade shareholders received $7.03 per share in cash, the transaction was valued at about $621 million, and Accolade is now part of a privately held company (no longer listed on Nasdaq). Combined scale in that release is over 20 million members and more than 1,700 employer and health plan clients. Accolade’s terms of use (2025 merger notice) state that Transcarent, Inc. acquired Accolade, Inc. and affiliates including Accolade 2ndMD LLC d/b/a 2nd.MD and PlushCare, Inc., and that those services now operate under the Transcarent umbrella. Transcarent’s CEO Glen Tullman leads the combined organization.
Employer marketing URLs such as /employers returned 404 in this pass; /solutions on accolade.com served Transcarent WayFinding content.

Integrations & Ecosystem
Eligibility is through the employer-sponsored medical plan. The member site does not publish a complete Trusted Partner directory. After the merger, Transcarent says Accolade’s Trusted Partner ecosystem and Transcarent’s local and virtual relationships are offered together in an Experience Store with single sign-on. Affiliated brands named in Accolade terms include 2nd.MD and PlushCare.
How a given employer’s live member experience is branded (Accolade vs Transcarent vs both) is not published as a single matrix.
Pricing
Employer fees are not published. Member copy states Care Advocate and nurse help, and 2nd.MD access, at no additional cost to eligible members. Confirm current packaging and PEPM with Transcarent / Accolade sales.
Notes & Limitations
- Accolade is no longer an independent public company; commercial control is Transcarent as of April 8, 2025.
- Public accolade.com is member-oriented; a current standalone employer product catalog was not found (employer path 404; solutions path showed Transcarent).
- Satisfaction and specialist-count figures are vendor-reported.
- “National” is inferred from U.S. employer/member positioning; a state license matrix was not found.
- Do not assume every Accolade customer has virtual care, 2nd.MD, or the same Trusted Partners—the member site says access depends on employer benefits.
